Black and Red themed cupcakes

These are some cupcakes that were made for my sister in laws 21st birthday party. Sorry for the bad quality photos! Note to self: do not use the iPhone camera to take photos of cupcakes :S

The cupcakes are vanilla flavoured with white chocolate ganache.

An evening with Whimsical Cakehouse

Here we are at Whimsical Cakehouse for our cake decorating class in Sydney. Guy and Linda are such amazing people, no wonder everyone loves their classes! Linda showed us how to apply ganache to cupcakes and smooth them over, before applying white fondant. Then its all about the decorating! We used royal icing and yellow fondant to make our designs. We also learnt how to make bows and flowers and so much more!

We had such a blast, even my husband was getting right into it and loving all the lil secrets to cake decorating.

Thank you so much Guy and Linda for having us and making our stay in Sydney so special. You’re the best!

Hello world!

Hey Everyone,

This is something I have been wanting to start for a while, but with so much going on the last few months, it’s been put to the bottom of my ‘to do list’!

Here I am finally on my first ever blog, blogging about my obsession with cupcakes. I started baking and decorating cupcakes a few months ago and didnt know much about the art of cake decorating until my amazing husband Jaaved gifted me a 1 on 1 cake decorating class with the amazing Linda from Whimsical Cakehouse. During this session, I realised how much I love using all sorts of decorating tools and fondant, and the pleasure I get from the end product! I also find it so relaxing and therapeutic from my day job as an Accountant at 99Bikes (which i still love!)

This blog was created so that I can share my love for cake decorating to the world!

Happy Baking everyone!
